Wear Antique Wedding Veils - Blend & Twist Traditions Of Past & Present Bridal Headpieces
By viryabo
Adding a classic touch to wedding apparel with antique bridal headpieces from the twentieth century, is adding a unique and personal style by blending traditional styles of the past with contemporary styles of today.
Incorporating elements of the past into a wedding is an opportunity to mix the old with the new. To twist fashion designs from the past into the stylish couture clothing of the present.
Why not make antique wedding veils your choice after your final consideration, which of course is now the popular choice; of having a vintage inspired wedding theme.
Wearing antique wedding veils with bridal gowns add a vintage touch to bridal apparel. Antique bridal headpieces over vintage inspired wedding gowns is a fantastic way to look beautiful and elegant without losing personal style, and looking like a typical bride.
With antique bridal headpieces, using them successfully doesn’t necessarily mean recreating a period costume that falls within a particular era. You can mime the beauty of styles of antique wedding veils gone by, and mix them with modern bridal apparel.

Antique Bridal Headpieces Of The 19th Century
Nothing today beats the glamour and chic of the past century, especially fashion style of the 20's to the 40's.These periods were characterised by apparel possessing sexy, slinky and sultry looks
Later periods such as the 50s and 60s had styles that seemed more suited to a playful look.
The top notch antique wedding veils of the 1920's was the Cloche or Cap veils. They fit over the entire head and then fell gracefully over the shoulders.
As bridal headpieces, Cloche hats best accompanies the chemise style, or tea length tube dress style of the 20's, worn with opaque stockings
These wedding veils were made from the finest Brussels lace, but most were produced from net backed laces, which were decorated with satin, or sometimes, velvet ribbon, and wax blossoms at the ears, with the veil having rounded corners.
There were also styles that fell beyond the shoulder, and onto the floor, with little or no body.
During the Roaring 20's, antique wedding veils and bridal headpieces became more and more elaborate in contrast to the simplistic appearance of the rather loose cut sexy wedding gowns of the period.
Veils became yards of silk tulle that was often photographed in a graceful gather at the bride's feet. Bridal headpieces had a rectangular cut that perfectly matched the lack of waistlines typically associated with bridal gowns of the time.

Hi Debora, thank you for your visit. Lovely veil it is. Got your mail. many of these vintage or antique pieces are rare to find and are usually stumbled upon at vintage shops, garage or estate sales.
However the good thing is that you can always have them custom made for you using a heavy off white or champagne lacework material that almost looks like crochet work, with tiny flower motifs or appliques and pearls settings.
It will be your own unique piece.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
